Reverend Woody Wells, Senior Pastor
Woody is a disciple of Jesus Christ. He is also husband to Carole, father to Benjamin and Jeremy, and grandfather to Kaylee Marie. A pastor since 1970, he graduated from Duke Divinity School in 1972 and has served in the NC Conference of the United Methodist Church ever since. He is passionate about preaching and bowties, among other things. Woody feels privileged to serve Haymount United Methodist Church, a congregation intent on spiritual formation, passionate worship, radical hospitality, and risk-taking service to the world. Why is he first of all a disciple of Jesus Christ? As the Scriptures declare: "In Him all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17).

Reverend David Gira, Associate Pastor
David is the lead pastor for our New Sanctuary contemporary service here at Haymount. He is married to Amy, and they have three children: Marcie, Hannah, and Caleb. David entered into ministry in 2001 and graduated from Duke Divinity in May of 2005. He originally came from Concord UMC in the Burlington, NC district where he served as pastor-in-charge for four years.

Reverend Tony Argo, Minister of Music and Arts
Tony oversees all of the music at Haymount and directs all of the adult choirs and musical ensembles. He is married to Karen, and together they have three published choral anthems. Tony taught choral music in schools in Virginia for five years and music theory for the Armed Forces School in Little Creek, Va for four years. Karen and Tony enjoy antiques, travel, theatre, and just plain talking. He lost his way & the church took him in by God’s Grace in 1978. Thanks be to God!

Dorothy Funkhouser, Director of Christian Education
In charge of all of the children and adult education programming here at Haymount, Dorothy has lived in Fayetteville and been in ministry at HUMC since 1998. She is the proud mother of three wonderful sons; She is also a wife, a daughter, and a sister – blessed! Dorothy graduated from Duke University with a Masters in Christian Education. Reverend Andy Jellison, Youth Minister
Andy, his wife, Sarah, and their daughter, Kate, are self-proclaimed “born, bred and raised” Hoosiers from Indiana. Andy graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in Christian Ministries and served at Shiloh Wesleyan in Plymouth, Indiana. Sarah also graduated from Indiana Wesleyan and is a Registered Nurse. They moved to Fayetteville in June 2010 and are excited to be ministering to our youth.

Eileen Hatch, Preschool Director
Fayetteville has been Eileen’s home since 1992. She and her husband are the proud parents of two wonderful boys. Eileen is a graduate of Mars Hill College and earned her Early Childhood Administrative Certification from Fayetteville Tech. It is a joy for her to minister to the children and families who come to our preschool every day!

Donna Davenport, Assistant Music Director and Organist
Donna is our organist extraordinaire for the traditional services each Sunday mornings. She also directs our children and youth choirs. She was graduated from Meredith College with a BM Degree in piano performance and The Ohio State University with an MA degree in piano pedagogy. Donna has served as Music Director/Organist for congregations in North Carolina, Indiana, and Texas since high-school. She also teaches private piano lessons. Donna is married to Russ, of Fayetteville and they have six children. |

Lisa Bryant, Office/Financial Manager
Lisa is a life-long resident of Fayetteville. She graduated from Methodist College with degree in Business Administration/Economics, and has worked at Haymount in various roles for over 30 years.

Jennie White, Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor
Jennie is from Thomson, Georgia and graduated from Tift College with a degree in mathematics. Haymount has been her church home for over 23 years. Jennie sings in two choirs and the Daughters of Harmony trio; she directs weddings and also coordinates acolytes. She has been married to Kirby, who is retired from the US Air Force, for over 44 years and they have two daughters and a granddaughter. Jennie loves working at HUMC as Woody’s administrative assistant. (She always wondered what she’d do when she grew up!)

Amy Dean, Office Assistant
Amy was raised in Fayetteville and grew up in the Haymount United Methodist Church family. She is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. Amy and her husband, Jerry, were married at Haymount, and they have two children, Curtis and Elizabeth. After living away in Raleigh for 16 years, their family returned to Fayetteville and Haymount in 2003.

Kim Richardson, Multimedia Designer
Kim is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication - Advertising and Political Science. She has a passion for non-profit work and enjoys volunteering her time with the youth at the church. Kim came to Fayetteville over three years ago and is married to Matt.

Brynn Franks, Director of Kitchen Ministries
Brynn is a lifelong United Methodist who loves food. She’s fortunate to have been baptized, confirmed, and married by her grandfather who is a retired minister. She is originally from Hagerstown, Maryland and is married to Matt who is a 7th grade Social Studies teacher at South View Middle. She has been cooking in professional and nonprofit kitchens since 1998 and has an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts Technology from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. She is a member of In One Accord and the Cumberland Oratorio Singers where she sings alto. She is an avid fan of thoroughbred horse racing, the Maryland Terrapins, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Karen Barkman, Director of Lay Ministries
Born in Massachusetts and raised in the Midwest, Karen has lived in Fayetteville and belonged to Haymount for over 35 years. She graduated from Purdue with a BA in English and a Masters in Education. Karen is married to Dave, a veterinarian, and they have three sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren, two cats and a dog.

Scott Frezzo, Facility Manager
Scott is a New Jersey native who most recently served as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division here at Fort Bragg. Prior to his military service he attended Seton Hall University and Lincoln Technical Institute where he earned a certificate in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration). Scott is an avid sports fan as well as an exercise enthusiast. He has one daughter, Izabella, and is excited to be a part of the HUMC family.
