I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am also husband to Carole, father to Benjamin and Jeremy, and grandfather to Kaylee Marie. A pastor since 1970, I graduated Duke Divinity School in 1972 and have served in the NC Conference of the United Methodist Church ever since. My passions are preaching and bowties. I am privileged to serve Haymount United Methodist Church, a congregation intent on spiritual formation, passionate worship, radical hospitality, and risk-taking service to the world. Tony’s claim to fame is that he is married to Karen, the famous altar interpretation person. He also claims to have taught choral music in schools in Virginia for 5 years and music theory for the Armed Forces School in Little Creek, Va for four years. Tony & Karen have 3 published choral anthems between them. They both enjoy antiques, travel, theatre, and just plain talking. Tony lost his way & the church took him in by God’s Grace in 1978. I moved from Milwaukee, WI and I have a background in food service employment with college classes in a relative area. I also have a B.S. in Business Administration from Methodist College. My family consists of 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
Haymount UMC has been my church home for 20 years. I sing in two choirs and Daughters of Harmony trio, direct weddings, and coordinate acolytes. I am a recently retired mathematics teacher from Terry Sanford High School. Kirby, who is USAF retired, and I both are from Georgia. Kim Cofiori - Administrative Assistant to the Senior Minister (ext 309)
Kim Cofiori, part time Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor, joined the Haymount United Methodist Staff in April. Kim recently received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and is working towards her master’s in psychology. Kim has been married for 33 years to her husband, Allen Cofiori. They have been members of HUMC for 21 years and have raised all three of their children here. Dave and his family are originally from Pennsylvania. They moved to Hope Mills in 2003, and Dave began pursuing a Masters of Divinity in Biblical Studies at Campbell University Divinity School. Further answering the call to ministry, Dave began working with youth while continuing his part-time Masters program.
